Gene Hackman (full name Eugene Allen Hackman) was born on January 30, 1930, in San Bernardino, California. During his childhood, he moved a number of homes with his family until settling in Danville, Illinois. His parents split in 1943 and he entered the US Marine Corps when he was only 16 years old.
