Ellen Philpotts-Page was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada on February 21, 1987, to parents Martha Philpotts, a teacher, and Dennis Page, a graphic designer.

She attended the Halifax Grammar School until the 10th grade , studied for a while at Queen Elizabeth High School and graduated in 2005 at the Shambhala School.
