Abdou Diouf (born in 1935) is a Senegalese politician, president from 1980.

Short Biography:

He became prime minister in 1970 under President Leopold Senghor and, on his retirement, succeeded him, being re-elected in 1983 and 1988.

Born at Louga in North-West Senegal, Diouf studied at Paris University and was a civil servant before entering politics. He was chair of the Organization of African Unity 1985-1986.
