William Faulkner (1897-1962) was an American novelist who wrote in an experimental stream-of-consciousness style.
Short Biography:
His works include The Sound and the Fury in 1929, dealing with a Southern US family in decline; As I Lay Dying in 1930; Light in August in 1932, a study of segregation; The Unvanquished in 1938, stories of the Civil War; and The Hamlet in 1940, The Town in 1957, and The Mansion in 1959, a trilogy covering the rise of the materialist Snopes family.
