Vladimir Nabokov (1899-1977) was an American writer, who left his native Russia in 1917, and began writing in English in the 1940s.

Short Biography:

His best-known novel is Lolita in 1955, the story of the infatuation of middle aged Humbert Humbert with a precocious child of 12. His other books include The Real Life of Sebastian Knight in 1945 and Pnin in 1957.
