Robert Wise (1914-2005) debut was a horror film, Curse of die Cat People in 1944; he progressed to such large-scale projects as The Sound of Music in 1965 and Star in 1968.

His other films include The Body Snatcher in 1945 and Star Trek: The Motion Picture in 1979.
