Raoul Walsh (1887-1981) directed his first film 1914 and went on to become one of Hollywood's most prolific directors.
He made a number of outstanding films, including The Thief of Baghdad in 1924, The Roaring Twenties in 1939, and White Heat in 1949. He retired in 1964.
