Hulk Hogan (full name Terry Gene Bollea) was born on August 11, 1953, in Augusta, Georgia. He was brought up in Tampa, Florida. He began practising wrestling and also had a 10-year career as a bass guitarist in local bands. While studying at the University of South Florida, he took up wrestling professionally.
