Alfred Lunt (1893-1977) went straight from school into the theatre, and in 1922 married Lynn Fontanne with whom he subsequently co-starred in more than 30 successes.
Short Biography:
They formed a sophisticated comedy duo, and the New York Lunt-Fontanne theatre was named after them. Their shows included Design for Living by Noel Coward (1933), There Shall Be No Night (1940-1941), and The Visit (1960).
