Ashlee Nicole Simpson is the second daughter of Joe Simpson and Tina Drew. She has an elder sister Jessica Simpson who is also a well known pop singer and actress. Ashlee was born in Waco, Texas. Ashlee has studied Ballet. After her elder sister landed herself a record deal the family moved to Los Angeles.

Ashlee Simpson initially worked as her sister’s back up dancer but soon was cast in "Malcolm in Middle" in 2001 and in "7th Heaven" in 2002-2004.
