Alexander Graham Bell (1847-1922) was a British scientist, and inventor of the telephone.

He patented his invention in 1876, and later experimented with a type of phonograph and in aeronautics invented the tricycle undercarriage.

Born in Edinburgh, he was educated at the universities of Edinburgh and London, and in 1870 went first to Canada and then to the USA where he opened a school for teachers of the deaf in Boston in 1872, and in 1873 became professor of vocal physiology at the unive read more...
