Willow Smith explains 'Whip My Hair'
Willow Smith explains 'Whip My Hair'

Wednesday, November 24 2010

Will Smith's daughter, Willow (9) says her track Whip My Hair is telling people to be themselves and not be influenced by negative peer pressure.

"Whip My Hair means don't be afraid to be yourself, and don't let anybody tell you that that's wrong," she said. "Because the best thing is you."

She also revealed the idea for the gang she dances with in the video for Whip My Hair, called Warriorettes, was her and her mother Jada Pinkett Smith's idea.

"Me and my mom first came up with Willowettes, and then we came up with Warriorettes," she said.

"It takes a warrior to stand up for themselves and not let anybody tell them that what they're wearing or what they're saying or what they're doing is wrong." added Willow.
