Will Daniel Day-Lewis play the role of Professor Moriarty in the upcoming Sherlock Holmes?
Will Daniel Day-Lewis play the role of Professor Moriarty in the upcoming Sherlock Holmes?

Tuesday, July 6 2010

Who will play Professor Moriarty in Sherlock Holmes in February? That is the question for the Sherlock Holmes fans who until now were convinced that Brad Pitt will play the famous and evil professor.

Last year was a rumor that Brad Pitt would have filmed scenes in an extended cameo with Professor Moriarty, but Warner Brothers has denied any rumor about it.

Superhero Hype announced today that Guy Ritchie really hopes that the actor Daniel Day-Lewis will accept the professor's role in the sequel of Sherlock Holmes.

Superhero Hype informs us that with the proposal for Daniel Day-Lewis, other big names were considered for the same role, among them we have actors like Sean Penn, Javier Bardem, and Gary Oldman.

The script for Sherlock Holmes 2 is written by Kieran and Michele Mulroney and will be released on Dec. 16, 2011.
