Vatican careful not to do publicity for Angels & Demons

"Angels & Demons", the movie based on the novel of same name written by Dan Brown will premiere at a theatre in Rome on May 4, 2009. The movie is set in the background of the Vatican City where Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon, played by Tom Hanks, tries to find the clues related to Illuminati, a secret society.
The movie was denied permission to shoot inside the Vatican and the team had to shoot it in a set created back in Hollywood. But, unlike the previous book based on Dan Brown's novel "The Da Vinci Code", the Vatican is remaining silent about the movie. Archbishop Velasio De Paolis was quoted saying to La Stampa that any issue created by the Church will in turn provide publicity to Angels & Demons. He also added that the Church is "careful not to play their game".
When Vatican had opposed The Da Vinci Code in 2005, it gave publicity to the movie instead and it recorded sales of over $750 million around the world.
