Vanessa Hudgens on Changing Movie Roles
Vanessa Hudgens on Changing Movie Roles

Wednesday, July 15 2009

Vanessa Hudgens, who is known as Gabriella on High School Musical, is stepping up away from her famous character.

Her new film Bandslam, which is set for release this fall, is about a group of students who eventually form an eclectic band. Hudgens plays Sa5m, pronounced as Sam, a shy and reserved school girl.

She said, "I think the best part about being an actor is playing different characters. I'm definitely going to revisit musicals later, once I feel accomplished at a certain point, that I've gone somewhere with my acting career. Then I'll go back, because that's where I grew up, in musicals."

The 20-year-old will also star in an upcoming action film Sucker Punch where she will portray a tormented girl. "I want to do R-rated films, and I want to do things that are a bit edgier, so maybe some kids can't see some of them," she stressed.
