Twilight actor, cast in X-Men: First Class

Wednesday, August 25 2010

Deadline announced that Edi Gathegi, who plays the role of vampire Laurent in Twilight Saga: New Moon, was cast in X-Men: First Class.

The film is directed by Matthew Vaughn and will see the former vampire, in the role of a mutant whose powers are virtually unlimited, who is able to adapt to any situation.

A true source of inspiration for writers, the mutant Darwin can't be taken by surprise: if he reaches a place where there is no light, his eyes allow him to see. In water he immediately develops gills and in a fire his skin changes so he can't be affected. If he will be thrown into space, his lungs will no longer need oxygen.

First-Class will bring to the big screen the beginnings of the X-Men series adventures before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr become Professor X and Magneto. The two characters are being played by James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender.

The film will be released in June 2011.
