Alex Da Silva, a Brazilian-born choreographer and dancer, who appeared on the popular dance show So You Think You Can Dance, was arrested in Los Angeles for allegedly sexually assaulting his four female students. He is recently being held on $3.8 million bail, and is set to appear in court on Tuesday.
Detective John Eum of LA Police Department said that Da Silva had been accused of sexually assaulting three different women in 2003, 2004 and 2005. However, it was noted that the prosecutors did not file charges against the choreographer. The police reinvestigate the previous cases after another woman came out in the open on March 28, and accused Da Silva of raping her.
The accused is a famous salsa instructor in various dance studios in LA. According to Police reports, the four women do not know each other, and all the incidents happened in Da Silva’s home in San Fernando Valley.
