The american actress Ruby Dee best known for the films "A Raisin in the Sun (1961)" and "American Gangster (2007)" died at her home in New Rochelle, New York from natural causes at 91.

The Emmy-winning actress was married to actor Ossie Davis. In 2005 she suffered a tremendous loss, when her husband, died unexpectedly. He was found dead in a Miami, Florida probably from heart disease.

She wanted to be cremated. Her ashes will be held in the same urn as that of Ossie Davis, with the inscription "In this thing together".
