Rosie O'Donnell said that it was Susan Boyle who brought out Simon Cowell's humanity after her performance in Britain's Got Talent last week. The 47-year-old singer sang I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables during the first round of the competition. From then on, she rose to global fame instantly.
"Simon Cowell was genuinely moved when he heard Susan Boyle sing. He showed his humanity, and I actually liked him. It was a moment in time." O'Donnell told People.
O'Donnell, who attended a three-hour art exhibition showing her own art pieces in Boca Raton's Wentworth Gallery, would donate the proceeds to her Rosie's Broadway Kids charity.
Sharing her opinion about Susan Boyle's one-of-a-kind performance, she continued, "That moment is what every artist tries to capture. Here is this freaky miss, a fat, ugly girl, like Shrek comes to life, directing energy towards her soul. This was so rare... something authentic in a world that is usually manufactured. It was a perfect moment which will never happen again."
