Robert De Niro paid Dustin Hoffman $1.5m a day for Little Fockers

Thursday, November 11 2010

Robert De Niro sure values his friendship with Dustin Hoffman

The actor reportedly agreed to pay Hoffman a staggering $7.5m to reprise his Meet The Fockers role - for just five days work!

Dustin was not included in the original filming because he demanded such a high fee, but after filming wrapped, Deniro — whose company Tribeca Films produced the movie — and notably costar Ben Stiller — weren't happy that Dustin had been left out, according to American tabloid the National Enquirer.

"In late August it was decided that having Dustin in the project was more important than saving a few million dollars, so he was brought in to shoot for five days," a source said.

"Robert personally approved Dustin's massive payout. Even though they've been friends for many years, it was not an easy decision. That's a lot of money, and there were a lot of people who though the movie was just fine without Dustin."
