President Obama Throws First Pitch Since 2005

Wednesday, July 15 2009

Sporting a Chicago White Sox jacket, President Barack Obama threw his first pitch at the Major League Baseball All-Star Game in St. Louis since 2005 where he graced the American League Championship Series then.

He got some fruitful advice from baseball legend Willie Mays. "I am telling him, follow through," Mays conferred. "He's going to do fine, I guarantee you... I just want to make sure he follows through."

The 76-year-old was also asked what they talked about when they were still in the forward cabin traveling to St. Louis. He was quite emotional in saying, "I reminded him that I dreamed about this day, not being on Air Force One, but dreamed about someone in my race being president, not knowing that anyone would be. But I reminded him that I cried for most of the night in Chicago."
