| Obamas Celebrate Independence Day with Birthday of Malia |

At the White House, the Independence Day celebration became extra special as it was also the 11th birthday of President Barack Obama's eldest daughter Malia Obama.
The president told the crowd Saturday evening, "There's another person who is thrilled you are here today. Malia. It just happens to be her birthday as well. When she was younger, I used to say all these fireworks were for her. I'm not sure she stills buys that."
Obama disclosed last Thursday that the birthday bash began earlier. There were more than 20 girls who attended the Camp David presidential retreat in western Maryland. He told The Associated Press jokingly, "There are 24 double-X chromosomes up in Camp David as we speak. It's a little intimidating."
