The representatives of Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo have confirmed the separation of the couple who started dating in 2006, one year after Lachey broke off the relationship with wife Jessica Simpson.
Minnillo's rep said, "They have amicably split but remain good friends who still greatly care for one another." A source said that the two are "still friends. It was the right thing for both of them to do."
"It was an amicable break-up. They walk away from it still friends," another source close to the couple revealed. "They still care about each other very much. This is what's best for both of them."
In retrospect, it was in 2007 when Minnillo told Us that she wanted to have children with Lachey saying "I always say I want three boys and a girl, but at the end of the day, I just want healthy kids."
