On Thursday, Netflix announced that it has reached 2 billion movie deliveries and has gifted the 2 billionth receiver with a flattering life membership. The lucky receiver was Clay Shannon from Birmingham whose order the company had despatched from its Atlanta centre.
Netflix Inc has been running since 1999 and has a subscriber base of over 10 million whom they serve from 58 centres throughout the USA. Records say that the company despatches nearly 2 million videos on rent everyday in their popular red coloured mail packs. Netflix has a collection of over 100,000 movies among which over 1300 titles are in high-definition Blu-ray discs.
They have already announced a price hike in the rent of Blu-ray discs which they informed their subscribers by an email. However, there will be no change in price on renting of standard DVDs.
