Neill Blomkamp will not direct 'The Hobbit'

Tuesday, July 6 2010

After Guillermo del Toro dropped the directing of The Hobbit, rumors appeared about the new director.

We all knew that Neill Blomkamp is busy with his new film "Elysium" and could not find time to direct "The Hobbit" because his program is already loaded.

A few days ago there were rumors on the Internet and specialized media announced that Neill Blomkamp is a potential candidate for the director's chair of the movie "The Hobbit".

I must announce that the movie has not yet received the green light, considering that MGM is still in the verge of bankruptcy and has no money to finance any film production.

A spokesman of the director announced today that he was not even contacted by people from MGM or Warner Brothers for the negotiations concerning The Hobbit.

The Hobbit was scheduled to be released in theaters in December 2012, a deadline which will surely not be achieved.
