NBC Renews Law and Order: SVU

Wednesday, April 15 2009

by Joe Halls

After a long meeting, NBC and Wolf Films inked a deal, and the network has decided to bring back the crime drama, Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, for an eleventh season. The two stars of the show, Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni, just began negotiating with the network last week and it's still unsure if they are returning.

In 2007, the two lead stars were reportedly receiving an estimate of $350,000 per episode. But given NBC's budget cuts and weakening primetime ratings, it seems difficult to get a raise nowadays.

The show has been already associated with Hargitay and Meloni. Losing them will definitely bring lots of changes to the show.
