Michael Keaton, who has been an actor for over 30 years, is set to debut his directorial stint this week. The actor has been known in his roles in Batman and Beetlejuice. As a feature film director, his independent movie The Merry Gentleman will hit the theaters on Friday.
"It's such an enormous amount of work. But I like the work, I enjoy the work," Keaton said. "Next time I would probably give myself the luxury of a little more time and hopefully a little more money. I would like to do it again."
He is also the lead star of the film. He plays the role of a suicidal hit man who met and made friends with a woman who runs away from a problematic marriage. "That ended up possibly being a blessing in disguise. We didn't have the luxury of 'umming and ahhhing' over anything or thinking about things. You just had to go," Keaton exclaimed.
