Matt Damon Spearheads Haiti Challenge

Matt Damon takes on a new advocacy. At the launch of the 2009 Clinton Global Initiative on Tuesday, the actor announced that his non-profit group Water.org will spearhead "Haiti Challenge."



The project, which has the official title "Safe Water and Sanitation For the People of Haiti," will provide safe water and sanitation equipment to more than 50,000 people in Haiti.



Damon said, "Water.org will deliver at least $2 million to fund this commitment." He made it clear, "We want to challenge everyone here in this room tonight to support this commitment to the people of Haiti by visiting Water.org."
