Even though Matt Damon has been honored with the American Cinematheque Award, it seems the tribute was more a roast than anything else.
Charlize Theron went also into this game, finding Damon's fault for one of Will Smith's failures.
"In 2000 Matt and I starred in The Legend of Bagger Vance along with Will Smith, the only Will Smith movie that didn't make like a gagillion, million dollars," the beautiful actress said. "I reunited with Will in Hancock, which did great. So I guess it's you, Matt."
Charlize Theron kept on with her accusation towards Matt Damon. She just could not stop there.
"That's not the only thing Matt and I have in common," she continued. "We're both Academy Awards winners. Of course, I won mine in a real category and Matt's was just for typing up [Ben] Affleck's thoughts."
On the other side, Ben Affleck felt the need to tell press that Damon has recently called his father to tell him he finally got the role he was waiting since he was a kid. Affleck also said, "Terrific Matt. I can't wait to see you up there blowing Michael Douglas under a piano while he's playing Stardust."
Mat Damon will play the part of Liberace's boyfriend opposite Michael Douglas.
On the other hand, Jennifer Garner talks about her husband's friendship with Ben Affleck: "one of the greatest love stories ever told." She also tells that Damon calls his best friend Ben, "my hetero-lifemate."
Suddenly appears a picture of Affleck and Damon together in a vacation. Casey Affleck shows it, as he might want us to see the two handsome guys while they were sitting naked on couch having some black bars covering their manhood. It seems Affleck's is larger than Damon's.
Jimmy Kimmel said only words of praise for Damon's work and dedication in all the parts he was playing: "Matt has the ability to transform himself into any character." "He lost 40 pounds in a hundred days to play an opium addict in Courage Under Fire. He gained 30 pounds for his role in the Informant and the metamorphosis he underwent to play Precious...I didn't even know she was him."
A wired moment of the night surprised also Matt Damon, it was the message from George Clooney, delivered while he was undergoing a mock proctology exam. "That was particularly enjoyable ”and strange!" Damon said.
Even President Bill Clinton sent a video in order to praise Damon's humanitarian and philanthropic efforts.
The gala took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Important persons were there, included Clint Eastwood, Robin Williams, Olivia Wilde, Don Cheadle, Greg Kinnear, director Paul Greengrass, and producer Jerry Weintraub. Sarah Silverman was also there.by FW Editor |
