Lee Daniels moves from 'Precious' to 'The Butler'

Friday, August 27 2010

The Deadline informs us that Lee Daniels, the one responsible for most acclaimed drama "Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire", will now direct "The Butler".

Source material of the movie is a draft article published in The Washington Post script written by Danny Strong. We are also informed that Sony Pictures representatives have asked Lee Daniels to rewrite his story or, in other words, to do it in such mode that an emotional wave will hit the American public.

Butler tells the true story of Eugene Allen, the black butler who lived and worked at White House for the last 34 years. He served no less than eight presidents and witnessed all socio-political movements designed to solve racial problems.

The next movie which will be made Lee Daniels, "The Butler" will go into production later this year.
