The season eight of American Idol finally came to an end. With almost 100 million votes cast, the winner of this year's famous singing competition is no other than Kris Allen.
Allen, who was tagged as the dark horse and the underdog, immediately exclaimed, "Are you serious?" after Ryan Seacrest revealed the results at the Nokia Theatre.
Though Adam Lambert, according to industry experts, gave a strong performance Tuesday and was even described by judge Simon Cowell as a "worldwide star," it was still not enough to make him this year’s Idol champ.
Allen and Lambert, together with the other Top 10 finalists, will embark on a tour across the U.S.
