In the recently concluded Miss USA pageant, Miss California Carrie Prejean openly opposed same sex marriage during the Question and Answer portion saying, "In my country and in my family, I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there but that's how I was raised and that's how I think that it should be between a man and a woman."
Socialite Kim Kardashian expressed her disappointment to what Prejean answered. "I don't agree with her narrow mindedness and neither do a lot of people. I'm not so narrow-minded so I definitely think a lot broader. Everyone has the right to be happy and be treated equally and I think not allowing gay marriage just kind of puts us back."
She added, "I believe you're in love with who you're in love with, and you should be able to marry them. No one should tell someone else how to think or how to feel."
In the end, Miss California was just the first runner-up of the pageant losing the crown to Miss North Carolina Kristen Dalton.
