Kiefer Sutherland May Return to Jail

Thursday, May 7 2009

by Joe Halls

Early Tuesday morning, fashion designer Jack McCollough was reportedly head butted by actor Kiefer Sutherland at a party in Manhattan. McCollough’s representative confirmed, "Anyone who knows Jack McCollough knows that he would not hurt a fly. All we can say at this point is that he was the victim of a vicious, violent, unprovoked assault and that the matter is in the hands of the authorities."

Frank Mateljan, spokesperson of Los Angeles City Attorney, said, "Our office intends to contact the NYPD and New York prosecutors to review the incident and determine whether Mr. Sutherland violated probation." This is in line with the actor's five-year probation in L.A. for his DUI conviction. The L.A. officials will be checking if the 24 lead star violated his terms of probation.

Sutherland was already imprisoned for 48 days regarding his conviction. An L.A. criminal defense attorney Steve Sitkoff, who was not part of the case, said, "If Sutherland's found in violation of probation for battery, and if he was intoxicated at the time, he could very well be sentenced to another 48 days or more."
