Kelly Preston Ready To Talk About Son Jett

Thursday, July 9 2009

Actor John Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston mourned privately since the sudden death of their 16-year-old son Jett in January. Jett died of a seizure while they were vacationing in Bahamas.

But according to Maria Shriver, the event's host of the California Governor's Conference for Women, Preston will break her silence and speak publicly about the loss of her son in October.

"If she can empower one other woman who feels like they can't get out of bed, or get through the day, whatever the loss, it'll be worthwhile sharing her story," Shriver said.

"She has been thinking about this for a couple of months. I asked her to speak and she knew about the conference and decided if she was only going to speak once, it would be here. She wants the conversation to be about more than just her."
