In line with the filming of the flick Life as We Know It, Katherine Heigl is taking a hiatus from ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy temporarily.
A rep of the show said, "Katherine is taking time off to film a movie. The producers at Grey's have accommodated past things like that before. It's a cast of 13 and it is a true ensemble so the show is mindful (of other commitments)."
EW.com reported that Heigl will be on leave for 5 episodes and that her break will commence this month. It will be until November. On the other hand, the producers of the hit medical drama revealed that there will be three new characters joining the cast to be portrayed by actors Robert Baker, Nora Zehetner, and Jesse Williams.
