On the 10th of August 2004, Katelyn Faber filed a civil suit against Kobe Bryant, under the pseudonym "Jane Doe". Her name was not officially disclosed (because of the local protection laws) until the dismissal of her case.
On the 1st of September, a Colorado District Attorney, Mark Hurlbert dropped charges against Bryant spending over $200,000 on the case. If found guilty, Los Angeles Lakers star player Kobe Bryant can face between 4 years and life imprisonment. Bryant is also subject to fines ranging from $3,000 to $750,000. However, after about one year, Katelyn withdraw her accusations and Kobe was set free.
