The royal wedding was more than just a wedding. It was a great opportunity to raise some funds too. According to reports, more than $1.6 million has been donated to a gift foundation set up by Kate Middleton and Prince William ahead of their April 29 wedding.
The royal couple set up the Royal Wedding Charitable Gift Fund and anyone who wished to give the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge a wedding gift could instead make a donation to this foundation.
The $1.6 million raised by this foundation will be distributed to 26 charities chosen by Kate and William, which were grouped into several distinctive areas:
Changing Lives through Arts and Sport, Help and Care at Home, Children Fulfilling Their Potential, Conservation for Future Generations and Support for Service Personnel and Their Families are just some examples.by FW Editor |
