There's life after American Idol for season six contestant Chris Sligh. The 30-year-old tried his luck in songwriting for the first time and got great accolades for a job well done. He co-wrote Rascal Flatts' recent number one single, Here Comes Goodbye, with Clint Lagerberg.
Sligh said, "I don't think I realize yet how big this is. I have people telling me how much money I'm gonna make and how it's going to open up career possibilities, but I'm just sitting here trying to figure out what all this means."
Talking about his music career, he narrated, "Let's be honest, I don't look like a rock star and I don't act like a rock star. My shtick is not the rock star thing so songwriting is definitely where my skills will end up."
The song was released in January 2009 as the first single of the group's sixth album, Unstoppable, which also topped the U.S. Billboard 200 reaping 351,000 copies on its first week. Unstoppable is the band's fifth album to debut at number one on the chart.
