Miley Cyrus proves to be one of the biggest teenage stars nowadays. The adaptation of Disney Channel TV series Hannah Montana topped the box-office results. The film sold $34 million in tickets exceeding the expectations of Walt Disney Co.


Hannah Montana the movie also set a record for the having the biggest opening day ever for a G-rated, live-action movie. It reaped $17.3 million on Friday alone.


Happy and surprised, Cyrus wrote on Twitter: "omgomg! my fans rock! the movie is doing great you guys! omg AND its all cause of you!!!! I LOVE U ALL! IF YOU HAVENT SEEN IT YET CHECK IT!"


Last week’s number one, Fast and Furious, fell to number 2 with $28.7 million while Monsters vs. Aliens is third with $22.6 million in sales.
