George Clooney comes back to ER to give fresh oxygen to the show

Saturday, March 14 2009

by Kaustav Das Modak

Actor George Clooney returned to the television show ER with the role of Dr. Doug Ross. This gave some fresh breath of ratings to the show, getting over 23 percent rise in number of viewers from last week. The episode in which Clooney appeared also featured some old actors of the show like

Juliana Marguiles, Noah Wyle and Eriq La Salle.

NBC, which broadcasts ER, was facing a tough time with its ratings. They say that this rise in the ratings have been the best since February 2007.

Reportedly, 10.7 million audiences had watched the show for the comeback of George Clooney. However, NBC had not taken any extra effort to

promote the reappearance of Clooney in ER.

It was his stint with ER which made Clooney famous in the 1990s. He had left the show in late 90s in search of a big career in movies. This season is the

last for ER and the show will be ending next month. It has run for a total of 15 seasons.
