Fast and Furious Fires up Box Office Results

The fourth installment of the Fast and Furious franchise shakes box-office results this year. So far, it is the year’s best opening weekend with $72.5 million, surpassing last weekend’s $59.3 million for Monsters vs. Aliens.



The movie also set a new record for April debuts, topping the previous leader set by Anger Management in 2003 with $42.2 million. The movie brings back the original casts of the 2001 blockbuster hit, Vin Diesel , Paul Walker , Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster .



Rounding the top 10 are Monsters vs. Aliens with $33.5 million; The Haunting in Connecticut with $9.5 million; Nicolas Cage’s Knowing; I Love You, Man; Adventureland; Duplicity; Race to Witch Mountain; 12 Rounds; and Sunshine Cleaning.
