Being terrified in a given role was a surprise from Drew Barrymore, a great actress who hails from a renowned Hollywood family and began acting when she was a child. Grey Gardens, a television movie, was shown on Saturday on HBO. Barrymore's role was Edith "Little Edie" Bouvier Beale.
The actress said, "This had a challenge in every freakin' corner, it was terrifying. But I just fell in love with her, who she was and who she became."
Describing her character in the film, she said, "She is a really fascinating person. She's tortured. She's on an emotional seesaw all the time -- one minute she's happy and dancing around and entertaining, and the next minute, she's full of sadness and heartache."
In the movie, she was Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis' cousin, lived a life of isolation with wealth and poverty, and died later on.
