Detroit win for LA Lakers after 7 years

Friday, March 27 2009

by Kaustav Das Modak

Supporting on 30 points scored by Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles Lakers reached victory after a long 7 years in the city of Detroit. In the match played on Thursday, LA Lakers scored 92 points against 77 scored by opponent Pistons. The Pistons team was plagued with injuries

In the third quarter, Los Angeles Lakers scored 20 points to win the match from the Pistons. The Pistons were, however, missing three of their key players, Rasheed Wallace, Allen Iverson and Richard Hamilton. So, Phil Jackson, coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, feels that his team should've won given the condition of their opponent team.

Michael Curry, coach of the Detroit Pistons, said that his team had little hope against the Lakers due to their poor lineup.

The last time Los Angeles Lakers had won at Detroit was on January 8, 2002.
