David Cook's Brother Dies

David Cook's Brother Dies

Monday, May 4 2009

by Joe Halls

American Idol season 7 champ David Cook was deeply saddened after his older brother died of cancer last Saturday. Adam, 37, was suffering the illness for more than a decade already.

During the 12th annual Race for Hope 5K in Washington, D.C., David told the crowd, "I actually lost my brother yesterday to a brain tumor and I couldn't imagine being anywhere else right now." The race was an event for brain cancer research. The singer served as grand marshal. His team also raised $98,000.

Adam was a lawyer and a married man, who lived in Terre Haute, Indiana. He was battling with cancer even during his brother’s participation on American Idol last year. He got the chance of watching David perform on stage in April 2008.
