Danny Gans Passed Away at 52

Monday, May 4 2009

by Joe Halls

A 911 call was received by authorities at about 3 a.m. from Danny Gans' wife Julie who reported about the singer's difficulty in breathing. When the crews arrived at the couple's Hills Estate, off Horizon Ridge Pkwy in Henderson, Nevada, they tried to treat Gans but was later declared dead.

Until now, the reason is still unknown. After hearing the news, the other Las Vegas' performers expressed their sympathy to the family. Celine Dion said, "I'm very, very sad. Not only was he the best in his field, but he was such a kind and loving person… I can't believe he's not with us anymore, and our heart goes out to his family."

"Las Vegas lost a great man, a great icon, his memory will live on through those he inspired," ventriloquist Terry Fator also exclaimed. And chief executive of Wynn Resorts, Steve Wynn, described the impressionist’s death as "a profoundly tragic event that leaves us all sad and speechless. The loss of Danny to his wife Julie, his children, Amy, Andrew and Emily is at this moment impossible to comprehend."
