Barack Obama Cracks Jokes With David Letterman

Tuesday, September 22 2009

As his opening spiel, David Letterman said, "President Bush" never appeared on his show because "he was always too busy not-working." He told the audience that "the building has been cleared of all Republican congressmen."

President Barack Obama's stint on the Late Show was to clarify "a lot of the misinformation out thereā€¦ that's why I'm on the Dave Letterman show." He said that the economy is getting better and that "we're going to come back stronger than before."

When Letterman told the president if his recent hullabaloos are racially-motivated, "I was actually black before the election," Obama joked. "One thing you sign up for in politics is that folks yell at you."
