Australian Film Festival website hacked

Monday, July 27 2009

by Kaustav Das Modak

After the Australian film festival denied to remove a documentary named "10

Conditions of Love" on Rebiya Kadeer, the Uighur leader in exile, the festival's

website was defaced with slogans against Kadeer, as Richard Moore, the organizer

of the festival admitted yesterday.

The website's pages were replaced and the authorities believe that the cyber

attack was carried out from an IP address in China. Additionally, the festival

organizers have been receiving spam emails targeting the festival in foul

languages.

"It just makes our position even stronger and we may even consider programing

more sessions of '10 Conditions of Love'," Moore said on radio.
