The lead actor from the CBS "Hawaii 5-O" successful series has decided to seek help managing his recovery from a recent shoulder injury, admitting to having a prescription drug issue. Alex O'Loughlin Alex O'Loughlin will miss work on at least one episode, so expect not to see much of Lt. Commander Steve McGarrett during the next couple of episodes.

O'Loughlin's representative confirmed the news and declared: "Alex is taking a short break from Hawaii Five-0 to receive supervised treatment for prescription pain medication due to [his injury]".

The Australian actor is lucky to have the support and understanding of his production colleagues and fellow actors: "Everyone at CBS Television Studios and Hawaii Five-0 wishes him well and we look forward to his return."
